Tierra Bendita Cacao: From Conversation to Creation

🍫 The Tierra Bendita Cacao Collection

Some of the best things we have done at Freedom Forged Coffee Company started with a conversation. This one was no different.

Last month, I met with Jorge and his sister Metzy in the D.C. area. Their family farm grows the coffee behind our Special Reserve: Black Honey. We talked about coffee, family, and what comes next. Then one word changed the direction of the day: cacao. By the time the mugs were empty, we knew we had to make it happen.

🌱 A Shared Origin, A Shared Purpose

The cacao sourced from Tierra Bendita Farm in Ahuachapán, El Salvador, comes from the same volcanic soil and the same people who pour their hearts into our Black Honey coffee. It is lightly roasted, small batch, and pure. Nothing added, nothing taken away.

• Tierra Bendita Cacao Nibs (4 oz) — bold and toasty, ideal for toppings, baking, or grinding with your morning coffee.

If you know me, you know I will find a way to mix coffee with just about anything. Here is my new favorite. It is rich, smooth, and easy to make.

What you will need

• 8 oz freshly brewed Freedom Forged coffee. Try Black Honey for a perfect match.
• 1 tablespoon Tierra Bendita Cacao Powder
• 1 teaspoon raw honey or your preferred sweetener
• 1/4 cup warm milk or a non dairy alternative
• A pinch of Tierra Bendita Cacao Nibs for the top

How to make it

1. Whisk the cacao powder and honey with a splash of hot coffee until smooth.
2. Add the rest of the coffee and the warm milk, then stir or froth.
3. Top with cacao nibs for crunch and aroma.

It is a small reminder that simple things, done right, can still surprise you.
